ROCKETDRAWS LTD
Prepared for Rocket Draws Ltd (Company No. SC889964)
Promoter address: Glenfarrar, 22 Pilmuir Road, Forres, Morayshire, IV36 1HE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
RocketDraws paid and free-entry prize draws
1. Promoter and scope
1.1 These terms and conditions apply to prize draws and competitions promoted through rocketdraws.co.uk and any associated official RocketDraws social-media account (each a “Competition”).
1.2 The promoter is Rocket Draws Ltd, a company registered in Scotland under company number SC889964, whose correspondence address is Glenfarrar, 22 Pilmuir Road, Forres, Morayshire, IV36 1HE (“RocketDraws”, “we”, “us” or “the Promoter”).
1.3 Customer enquiries and complaints should be sent to info@rocketdraws.co.uk
1.4 Each Competition may also have specific information displayed on its competition page, including the opening date, closing date, entry price, free-entry route, maximum number of entries, maximum entries per person, prize details, any cash alternative, draw method and draw date. That information forms part of these terms.
1.5 If there is a conflict between these general terms and clearly stated Competition-specific terms, the Competition-specific terms will take priority for that Competition, except where doing so would be unlawful or unfair.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Unless a Competition page states otherwise, Competitions are open only to residents of Great Britain aged 18 or over.
2.2 Employees, officers and contractors of RocketDraws, persons professionally connected with a Competition, and members of their immediate household may not enter.
2.3 By entering, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
2.4 We may request reasonable evidence of age, identity, address, payment ownership and eligibility before accepting an entry or awarding a prize.
2.5 We may refuse or cancel entries where we reasonably believe that an entrant is underaged, ineligible, acting fraudulently, using multiple accounts to avoid limits, interfering with the website or draw process, or otherwise breaching these terms.
3. Nature of the Competitions
3.1 RocketDraws offers prize draws with a paid online entry route and a free postal entry route. Eligible paid and valid free entries are entered into the same draw and have an equal chance of winning.
3.2 Where a Competition includes a question, entrants must submit the correct answer to qualify for entry. The question is an additional entry condition and does not remove or restrict the availability of the free postal route.
3.3 Winners are selected by chance using the draw process stated on the Competition page.
3.4 RocketDraws does not claim that participation is a form of investment, a solution to financial difficulty, an alternative to employment or a means of achieving financial security.
4. Paid online entry
4.1 To enter online, you must create or use a valid account, select the Competition, provide any required answer, choose the permitted number of entries, complete payment and receive confirmation that the order has been accepted.
4.2 The price per entry and any entry limits are shown on the Competition page before purchasing.
4.3 An order is not accepted until payment has been authorised and the website has issued confirmation. A pending card transaction or abandoned basket does not create an entry.
4.4 Entry numbers may be allocated automatically. Unless the Competition page expressly allows manual number selection, entrants cannot demand a particular number.
4.5 Discount codes, account credit and promotional offers are subject to their own stated conditions and may be withdrawn or corrected if issued in error.
5. Free postal entry
5.1 No purchase is necessary. A free postal entry route is available for each eligible Competition.
5.2 To enter by post, send a stamped, unenclosed postcard by ordinary first-class or second-class post to: Rocket Draws, Glenfarrar, 22 Pilmuir Road, Forres, Morayshire, IV36 1HE.
5.3 Each postcard must clearly include: (a) the exact Competition name; (b) the correct answer to any Competition question; (c) the entrant’s full name; (d) full postal address; (e) date of birth; (f) telephone number; (g) email address associated with a RocketDraws account; and (h) a statement that the entrant has read and accepts these terms.
5.4 Each postcard is one free entry. Each entry must be sent separately. Multiple entries in one envelope, bulk-delivered entries, photocopies, mechanically reproduced entries, illegible entries and hand-delivered entries may be rejected.
5.5 The entrant must have or create a RocketDraws account using the same email address before the Competition closes so that a valid entry can be allocated and the entrant can be contacted.
5.6 Postal entries must be received, not merely posted, before the stated closing time. Entrants should allow sufficient delivery time. RocketDraws is not responsible for postal delay, loss or damage.
5.7 A valid free entry received before the Competition closes will be treated in the same way as a paid entry and will have an equal chance of winning.
5.8 Free entries are subject to the same overall entry limit per person as paid entries unless the Competition page states otherwise.
5.9 We are not required to acknowledge receipt of a postal entry or confirm whether an answer is correct before the draw.
6. Entry limits and responsible participation
6.1 Any maximum number of entries per person, household or Competition will be shown on the relevant Competition page.
6.2 Entrants must not create or control multiple accounts to exceed an entry limit.
6.3 RocketDraws may provide account spending limits, temporary account suspension, permanent account closure and marketing suppression tools. Requests should be sent to info@rocketdraws.co.uk
6.4 RocketDraws may apply reasonable transaction, payment-method or monthly spending limits to protect customers and the business.
6.5 Participation is optional. Entrants should spend only what they can afford and should not borrow money to enter.
7. Opening, closing and availability
7.1 The opening and closing date and time are displayed on each Competition page.
7.2 Unless required by circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control, we will not extend a closing date, reduce a prize or cancel a Competition because of low ticket sales.
7.3 A Competition may close early if the maximum number of entries is reached, provided this possibility was stated clearly before entry.
7.4 We may suspend or cancel a Competition where necessary because of illegality, fraud, a material technical failure, a supplier failure, an error affecting fairness, or another circumstance outside our reasonable control.
7.5 If a Competition is cancelled and cannot fairly be completed, paid entry fees for that Competition will be returned to the original payment method or, only with the customer’s agreement, as account credit. Valid free entries do not carry a cash value.
8. Draw process and winner selection
8.1 The draw date and method will be stated on the Competition page or announced through an official RocketDraws channel.
8.2 Winners will be selected from all valid entries using a verifiably random and auditable computer process, or another fair process carried out by or under the supervision of an independent person.
8.3 A live broadcast may be used for transparency, but a failure or interruption of a livestream does not invalidate a draw where the underlying draw record remains complete and auditable.
8.4 The result recorded by the official draw system and retained by RocketDraws is final, subject to correction of a manifest error or evidence that the draw was compromised.
8.5 RocketDraws will retain reasonable draw records, including the winning entry number and the method used.
9. Winner notification and verification
9.1 We will contact the provisional winner using the contact details linked to the winning entry and may also announce the winning entry number publicly.
9.2 The provisional winner must respond within 14 days of the first notification unless the Competition page states a different reasonable period.
9.3 Before a prize is released, the provisional winner must provide any reasonable evidence requested to verify identity, age, address, eligibility, account ownership and, where relevant, payment ownership.
9.4 If the provisional winner does not respond in time, cannot be verified, is ineligible or has breached these terms, the prize may be forfeited and another winner selected using the same fair method.
9.5 RocketDraws will never require a genuine winner to pay an administration fee merely to receive the advertised prize. Normal personal costs not included in the prize remain the winner’s responsibility.
10. Prizes
10.1 The number, nature and value of prizes are described on the Competition page. Images may be illustrative, but material specifications and any important limitations will be stated.
10.2 Unless clearly stated otherwise, the advertised prize will be awarded regardless of the number of paid entries received.
10.3 Where a cash alternative is offered, its amount will be stated before entry. The winner may choose only between the advertised prize and the stated cash alternative, subject to any deadline and process shown on the Competition page.
10.4 RocketDraws may substitute a prize only where the advertised prize becomes genuinely unavailable for reasons outside our reasonable control. Any substitute will be of equal or greater value, or the winner will be offered a reasonable cash alternative.
10.5 Cash prizes will be paid by bank transfer or another secure method agreed with the verified winner. The winner may be required to provide bank details in their own name.
10.6 Physical prizes will be delivered within Great Britain or made available for collection as stated on the Competition page. Delivery, installation, insurance, registration, licences, running costs and other ancillary costs are included only where expressly stated.
10.7 Travel prizes are subject to the dates, suppliers, booking conditions, passport, visa, insurance and other limitations stated on the Competition page. RocketDraws will not be responsible for circumstances outside its reasonable control but will act fairly and use reasonable efforts to provide the advertised benefit.
10.8 Prizes are non-transferable before verification unless RocketDraws agrees otherwise in writing.
10.9 Winners are responsible for obtaining independent tax advice where needed. RocketDraws does not provide tax advice.
11. Publicity and winner information
11.1 RocketDraws may publish limited winner information, such as surname, county or general area and winning entry number, where reasonably necessary to demonstrate that a valid award took place and subject to applicable law.
11.2 A winner may object to or ask us to reduce publication of their personal information by contacting info@rocketdraws.co.uk. We will consider the request, although we may still provide information to the Advertising Standards Authority or another competent authority where required.
11.3 Photographs, video, testimonials or interviews will be used for promotional purposes only with the winner’s separate agreement. Refusing promotional participation will not affect entitlement to a prize.
12. Refunds and chargebacks
12.1 Entries are for a service that begins immediately when entry numbers are allocated. Except where required by law or expressly provided in these terms, paid entries are non-refundable after acceptance.
12.2 We will provide a refund where a Competition is cancelled and cannot fairly be completed, where an entry was accepted because of a material system error attributable to RocketDraws, or where required by law.
12.3 Accidental purchases should be reported promptly to info@rocketdraws.co.uk. We will review the circumstances fairly but cannot guarantee a refund after entries have been allocated, or a draw has taken place.
12.4 An entrant must contact us before initiating a chargeback so that we have a reasonable opportunity to investigate. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in account suspension and recovery action.
13. Website, accounts and acceptable use
13.1 Entrants are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for activity carried out through their account.
13.2 You must not use bots, scripts, automated entry tools, payment abuse, false identities, unauthorised access, scraping that harms the service, or any method designed to interfere with fair participation.
13.3 We may suspend access while investigating suspected fraud, security incidents, payment disputes or breaches of these terms.
13.4 We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the website. We will use reasonable care to maintain the service and to correct material errors.
14. Liability
14.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of statutory consumer rights.
14.2 Subject to clause 14.1, RocketDraws is not responsible for loss caused by events outside its reasonable control, postal failures, failures of an entrant’s device or internet connection, inaccurate information supplied by an entrant, or an entrant’s failure to follow these terms.
14.3 Subject to clause 14.1, RocketDraws will not be liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss. Our total liability to an entrant arising from a Competition will not exceed the greater of the entry fees paid by that entrant for the affected Competition or the value of the prize the entrant was validly entitled to receive.
14.4 Nothing in these terms affects rights available under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer-protection law.
15. Data protection and marketing
15.1 RocketDraws processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Notice, the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and applicable electronic-marketing rules.
15.2 Personal data may be used to create and administer accounts, process entries and payments, prevent fraud, operate draws, verify and contact winners, deliver prizes, handle complaints, meet legal obligations and protect the business and customers.
15.3 Marketing consent is separate from acceptance of these terms. Entrants can opt out of marketing at any time without affecting valid entries.
15.4 We may share data with payment providers, website and hosting providers, professional advisers, prize suppliers, delivery providers, fraud-prevention providers and public authorities where necessary and lawful.
16. Complaints
16.1 Complaints should be sent to info@rocketdraws.co.uk with the entrant’s name, account email, Competition name, order number or entry number, and a clear description of the issue.
16.2 We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and provide a final response within 20 working days. Where more time is reasonably required, we will explain why and provide an updated timeframe.
16.3 If a complaint concerns the fairness or integrity of a draw, RocketDraws may refer the matter to an independent reviewer or relevant dispute-resolution body.
16.4 Nothing in this complaints process prevents a consumer from contacting Citizens Advice, Trading Standards, the Advertising Standards Authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office or a court where appropriate.
17. Changes to these terms
17.1 We may update these general terms for future Competitions. The version applying to an entry is normally the version available when that entry was accepted.
17.2 We will not make a material adverse change to an ongoing Competition after entries have opened unless the change is necessary by law or because of circumstances outside our reasonable control and does not unfairly disadvantage entrants.
17.3 Material changes will be published clearly on the website and, where appropriate, communicated directly to affected entrants.
18. General
18.1 If any clause is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses will continue in effect.
18.2 A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.
18.3 These terms do not create rights for any person who is not an entrant or the Promoter, except where expressly stated.
18.4 Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
19.1 These terms and each Competition are governed by Scots law.
19.2 The Scottish courts will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in Great Britain, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of Great Britain where you live.
19.3 Before starting court proceedings, both parties should make reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute through the complaints process.
COMPLAINTS POLICY
How to complain
- Email info@rocketdraws.co.uk and include your full name, account email, Competition name, order or entry number, and a clear description of the complaint and preferred resolution.
Timescales
- We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and issue a final response within 20 working days. Complex cases may take longer; if so, we will explain why.
Investigation
- A person not directly involved in the original issue should review the complaint where practicable. Draw-integrity complaints may be referred to an independent reviewer.
Escalation
- A consumer may contact Citizens Advice, Trading Standards, the Advertising Standards Authority or the Information Commissioner’s Office where relevant. Court rights are unaffected.
Record keeping
- RocketDraws should retain a complaint log recording dates, issue type, investigation, outcome and corrective action.
REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS AND PRIZE CLAIM POLICY
Entry refunds
- Paid entries are generally non-refundable once accepted and allocated, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Refunds should be given where a Competition is cancelled and cannot fairly be completed, or where a material RocketDraws system error caused an invalid charge.
- Accidental-purchase requests should be reviewed promptly and fairly before the draw. The policy should not promise refunds that the payment system cannot reliably process.
- Approved refunds should normally be returned to the original payment method within [INSERT NUMBER] working days.
Competition cancellation
- Do not cancel, extend, or reduce a prize because sales are lower than expected.
- Cancellation should be limited to illegality, fraud, material technical failure, supplier failure or circumstances genuinely outside reasonable control.
- Publish the reason and contact affected paid entrants directly where practicable.
Prize claims
- Contact the provisional winner promptly and allow at least 14 days to respond unless a different reasonable period is clearly stated before entry.
- Verify age, identity, address, eligibility and payment ownership before release.
- Do not charge an administration fee to release the advertised prize.
- If the winner cannot be verified or fails to respond, document the decision and redraw using the same fair process.
RESPONSIBLE PARTICIPATION POLICY
RocketDraws is committed to operating prize draws responsibly and to reducing the risk of financial or emotional harm.
- Competitions are restricted to adults aged 18 or over and must not be targeted at children.
- Marketing must not suggest that entering is a solution to debt, financial concerns, employment problems, or personal difficulties.
- Customers should be able to request a spend limit, temporary suspension, permanent closure, and suppression of marketing communications.
- A temporary suspension should prevent entries and direct marketing for at least six months unless a shorter customer-requested pause tool is separately offered.
- RocketDraws should monitor indicators such as unusually rapid spending increases, repeated failed payments, distress messages, or attempts to bypass limits and respond proportionately.
- Credit-card use and monthly limits should be reviewed against the current Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators.
- Staff should be trained to recognise vulnerability and escalate concerns.
Customer request wording
To set a limit, pause or close your account, email info@rocketdraws.co.uk. Account closure or suspension does not affect a prize already won through a valid entry, but it may prevent further participation and marketing.
WINNER VERIFICATION AND DRAW INTEGRITY POLICY
- Use one documented draw system consistently and retain an auditable record of eligible entries, timestamp, process and outcome.
- Ensure paid and valid free entries are included in the same eligible pool and have equal chances.
- Use a verifiably random computer process, certified machine, or independent supervision.
- Retain draw records securely for an appropriate period and restrict access.
- Verify the provisional winner’s age, identity, address, account and eligibility before announcing more than limited information.
- Keep a written record of any disqualification or redraw decision and the evidence supporting it.
- Publish the winning entry number and limited winner details, while respecting justified privacy objections.
- Obtain separate consent for photographs, videos, interviews and testimonials.
Sanctions and Criminal activity
RocketDraws reserves the right to refuse entries or withhold prizes where this is required to comply with sanctions legislation, anti-money laundering obligations, fraud prevention measures or other legal requirements.
